Aventa Acquires Irish Sea Contractors to Expand Offshore Delivery

Aventa has acquired Irish Sea Contractors (ISC), an Irish marine contractor with more than 40 years of experience in the industry.

Based in County Wexford, ISC specializes in marine civil engineering, commercial diving, and subsea cable projects. For clients, the acquisition brings together engineering, planning, and offshore execution within one group, helping to reduce interfaces, improve constructability, and maintain continuity throughout project delivery. The combined offering covers subsea cable landfall and nearshore installation, port and harbor construction and maintenance, commercial diving, and underwater inspection, repair, and maintenance. Clients will also benefit from the addition of AERSUB, ISC’s newly developed and DNV-qualified subsea cable repair solution.

The acquisition advances Aventa’s strategy to expand its Operations business alongside its established Engineering and Consulting activities. On the other hand, it adds ISC’s teams and project experience to the transport and installation, cable installation, and other offshore scopes already delivered by Aventa’s operational teams. Aventa plans to invest in the Irish operation, expand its services, and create skilled roles as the business grows. A presence in Dublin is also planned to support clients and develop new projects.

As Aventa supports developers, operators, transmission system operators, cable manufacturers, and installation contractors on marine energy and transmission projects, and because offshore wind and interconnector projects grow in scale and complexity, decisions made during design increasingly need to account for installation methods, seabed conditions, vessel constraints, and the practicalities of offshore execution. Bringing these disciplines closer together helps clients anticipate operational constraints from the earliest stages of a project.

“Building our Operations business is a strategic priority for Aventa,” said Antoine Bosc, CEO and Co-Founder of Aventa. “ISC brings experienced teams, established client relationships and a strong record of delivering complex marine work. Together, we can support a wider range of projects and take greater responsibility across their lifecycle.”

ISC’s subsea cable experience includes fiber-optic and power cable projects in Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe. Its teams have worked on cable landfalls, pull-ins, nearshore installation, burial, protection, and remedial works. Combining this experience with Aventa’s engineering and installation expertise strengthens the group’s ability to support the connection between offshore infrastructure and shore. The group intends to develop this capability across both telecommunications and power transmission markets.

“Clients benefit when knowledge moves smoothly from engineering and planning into offshore execution,” said Aurélien Zuccarini, Chief Growth & Talent Officer and Co-Founder of Aventa. “Combining ISC’s delivery experience with our engineering, consulting, and existing operational expertise will help us improve constructability, manage interfaces, and provide continuity through installation and long-term asset support.”

Following the acquisition, Áine Kinsella, Managing Director of ISC, will also lead Aventa’s Operations business unit. She will continue to lead ISC, which will operate under its established name in Ireland.

“Joining Aventa is an opportunity to build on what ISC and its people have achieved over more than four decades,” said Áine Kinsella. “Our operational experience and Aventa’s engineering and consulting expertise are complementary. Together, we can take on more complex work and offer clients broader support, while maintaining the approach and relationships that define ISC.”
