Ideal for commercial vessels, offshore platforms or base station use, the 4′ 6500-WB has a wind rating of 125 mph, is waterproof to IP67 standards, is RoHS compliant, and has an operating temperature range of -67° to 160° F. The antenna boasts a frequency range of 156-162 MHz, VSWR <1.5:1 / 145-165 MHz, VSWR <2:1, with a nominal impedance of 50ohm and an input power rating of 100 watts continuous with a 3dB gain. Its polarization pattern is vertical (omnidirectional).
The 6500-WB has a UHF female SO-239 type connector and weighs only 2.5 lbs. The high-gloss white antenna has a long-lasting and non-yellowing polyurethane finish. With its DC ground, if there’s a short, it will read on a continuity test. Tuning or a ground plane isn’t required.
The patent-pending stainless-steel mounting bracket installs without the weight of the antenna or needing to remove the nuts from the U-bolt—no more dropped hardware. Adaptable, it’ll mount onto a mast, rail, one of Shakespeare’s many mounts and brackets, or directly to a bulkhead.
Shakespeare’s 6500-WB antenna with mounting system carries an MSRP of $240.
