The NATO exercise brought together more than 300 unmanned systems and specialists from participating nations to trial emerging maritime capabilities.
Deployed off the coast of Sesimbra, Portugal, Marlin combined acoustic and environmental data from fixed and autonomous platforms. Its machine learning-based classifiers were used to support the detection, classification, and tracking of potential underwater threats in near real time.
Throughout the exercise, Marlin delivered continuous data with zero reported failures and achieved RS Aqua’s fastest near-real-time target detection to date: 180 seconds.
Participation in REPMUS reflects the wider work taking place across General Oceans to develop practical, interoperable technologies for defense and maritime security. By testing systems in realistic operational settings, our companies can evaluate new capabilities, strengthen integration with other platforms, and help operators build a clearer picture of activity beneath the surface.
