GEOxyz USV Hull Completed as 13-Meter Survey Vessel Moves to Outfitting

The construction of GEOxyz's newest 13-meter uncrewed survey vessel (USV) has reached an important milestone, with the hull now fully assembled and off the jig. With the main hull structure completed, the vessel is moving into the next phase of construction: outfitting. During this stage, the USV will be equipped with the onboard systems, survey sensors, and technology required to prepare her for offshore survey operations.

The new vessel forms part of GEOxyz’s continued development of autonomous and remotely operated survey capabilities. USVs are becoming an increasingly established part of the company’s offshore operations, complementing GEOxyz’s conventional survey vessels and providing another platform from which high-quality survey data can be acquired.

Their ability to remain on task for extended periods, combined with a reduced offshore crew footprint, brings clear operational advantages. By limiting the number of personnel required offshore, USVs can also reduce exposure to challenging marine environments while supporting more efficient survey operations.

For GEOxyz, the expansion of its USV fleet is not about replacing conventional survey methods, but about having the right platform available for each scope. By combining autonomous technology with the company’s existing fleet, survey equipment, and offshore expertise, we can select the approach that best fits the operational and technical requirements of a project.

With the hull completed, attention now turns to bringing the vessel and her survey systems together as one fully integrated offshore survey platform.
