The MOU was signed on September 23, 2026, in New York, during General Secretary and President To Lam’s visit to the United States, at a high-level meeting between Vietnamese leadership and US business leaders.
Under the MOU, MOBY and its Vietnamese partners will research, develop, and commercialize robotics and automation solutions for Vietnam’s growing maritime economy. Target applications include oil and gas infrastructure, seaports, offshore wind, submarine cables and other marine structures, as well as deep seabed mapping and assessment of critical minerals, including rare earth elements.
MOBY will lead on the technology, deploying its remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) systems, technical expertise, and operator training. Saigontel and SoiHub will support MOBY’s work in Vietnam, connecting it with Vietnamese industry, manufacturing capacity, test sites and markets, as well as research institutions, universities, and technical experts.
Through this partnership, MOBY is already actively engaged in commercial opportunities with leading oil and gas companies in Vietnam.
