Located 180 km offshore in the Perdido Fold Belt at depths of 2,500–2,600 meters, Trion, developed by Woodside (Operator) and PEMEX, is Mexico’s first ultra-deepwater oil development comprising 24 subsea wells connected to a new Floating Production Unit (FPU) and FSO. The project’s scale and complexity demand precise engineering, schedule discipline, and ultra‑deepwater technical assurance—areas where EnerMech’s track record in the Gulf of Mexico continues to stand out.
Under the new award, EnerMech will deliver a package spanning flooding, cleaning, gauging, hydrotesting, nitrogen dewatering services, and pre‑commissioning activities aligned with Subsea7’s SURF installation program. The work will be supported from EnerMech’s Houston base and its strategically positioned facility in Villahermosa, Mexico, enabling efficient deployment of personnel, equipment, and logistics throughout the project.
Recent execution across landmark Gulf of Mexico campaigns has strengthened EnerMech’s capability and reinforced its reputation as a leading pre‑commissioning partner in ultra‑deepwater environments. The company has also successfully supported Subsea7 on previous deepwater projects.
EnerMech will deploy its pre‑commissioning spreads, ensuring equipment availability, eliminating rental delays, and protecting vessel utilization—a critical driver for the Trion schedule. Embedded project planners and engineers will work directly with Subsea7’s teams to optimize sequencing, minimize SIMOPS impacts, and safeguard the offshore critical path.
EnerMech CEO Charles ‘Chuck’ Davison, Jr. said, “This is an exciting award for EnerMech. Trion is a strategically important development for Mexico and for the wider region, and we’re proud to support Subsea7 with the technical capability, equipment, and execution certainty required to deliver safely, efficiently, and on schedule.”
Nuno de Sousa, SVP Energy Solutions, added: “Our team brings extensive deepwater experience, proven Gulf of Mexico delivery, and a robust equipment portfolio designed for ultra‑deepwater performance. This contract reflects the value of our longstanding relationship with Subsea7 and our shared commitment to excellence.”
