TGS, a leading provider of energy data and intelligence, announced the commencement of a new 19,500 square kilometer 2D-cubed project in the deep waters offshore Côte d’Ivoire, in partnership with PetroCi and the Direction Générale des Hydrocarbures.

The project leverages TGS’ proprietary 2D-cubed technology, using a structurally conformable interpolation solution to transform 2D seismic data into a regional-scale 3D volume. The dataset integrates more than 14,800 kilometers of 2D seismic data acquired by TGS across multiple campaigns between 2006 and 2014. The input data was subsequently reprocessed through an advanced pre-stack depth migration (PSDM) sequence in 2024. Final products from the 2D-cubed project are expected to be available in Q3 2026.

The unified 3D volume will provide valuable insight into Cretaceous depositional systems and support improved understanding of structural and stratigraphic traps across the deepwater area.

David Hajovsky, Executive Vice President of Multi-Client at TGS, commented, “This project reflects TGS’ continued commitment to delivering high-quality seismic data to identify new resource potential and support ongoing exploration activity in deepwater Côte d’Ivoire.

“For energy companies operating in the region, or looking to explore, this data set provides more efficient screening and early-stage evaluations, helping prioritize exploration targets with greater confidence.”
