ZeroUSV has announced that the Oceanus12 USV class has achieved compliance with the MCA Workboat Code Edition 3, including Annex 1 and Annex 2, a highly significant regulatory milestone for ZeroUSV and its Oceanus class of USV’s.

The UK MCA WB3 is globally recognized as being the leading regulatory standard for commercial workboats, with Annex 2 of the code providing the pathway for remotely operated and unmanned vessels to meet safety and operational compliance. For the Oceanus12 class to have an MCA WB3 commercial certificate provides positive proof for ZeroUSV’s customers of independent assessment by the MCA certifying authority MECAL, against the rigorous safety, operational and technical standards demanded of WB3, including those specifically developed for unmanned vessel operations.

For ZeroUSV, the ability to have the necessary regulatory approval to deploy and operate in both the defense and commercial USV sectors is a defining moment and will allow sales of Oceanus-class USV not just in the UK but globally.
