OMIL Offshore Partners with HydroSurv to Bring USV Technology to Spain and Portugal

Spanish marine technology specialist OMIL Offshore has strengthened its portfolio of marine and subsea technologies through an exclusive Iberian Channel Partnership with HydroSurv, bringing the UK company's full range of REAV (Rapid Environmental Assessment Vessel) uncrewed surface platforms to customers across Spain and Portugal.

Under the agreement, OMIL Offshore will market, demonstrate, supply, and provide first-line support for the entire REAV portfolio, giving customers access to commercially proven uncrewed surface vessel (USV) technology backed by local expertise and technical support.

The collaboration brings together complementary capabilities in surface and subsea operations. OMIL Offshore specializes in the supply and integration of ROV systems and marine inspection technologies, supporting applications across offshore energy, aquaculture, subsea cables, and marine infrastructure. Its established portfolio, including Deep Trekker ROV systems, complements HydroSurv’s REAV platforms, creating opportunities to deliver integrated USV and ROV solutions tailored to the requirements of individual projects.

David Hull, Founder and CEO of HydroSurv, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with OMIL Offshore to bring integrated USV and payload solutions to the Spanish and Portuguese markets. Although the partnership is still in its early stages, we’ve already made an excellent start, working together to develop solutions that combine HydroSurv’s USV platforms with OMIL’s complementary survey technologies. Working with Soraya and Gonzalo has been a real pleasure, and we’re excited about the opportunities ahead as we build the partnership together.”

To support customer demonstrations across the region, OMIL Offshore is preparing to take delivery of a dedicated REAV-25 demonstrator. The compact, battery-electric USV will provide an in-country demonstration capability, allowing prospective customers to experience the platform first-hand, test its performance in real operating conditions, and assess its suitability for their specific requirements before making an investment decision. This hands-on approach will help customers explore the potential of uncrewed surface technology for hydrographic surveying, infrastructure inspection, environmental monitoring, and nearshore operations.

Ahead of the vessel’s handover, Gonzalo Gonzalez, COO & Founder of OMIL Offshore, and Alejandro Cortegoso, Technical Support Manager, will visit HydroSurv’s facilities in Exeter this week for operator training and acceptance testing of the REAV-25, preparing the team to demonstrate and support the platform in-country.

Soraya Fernández, Founder and CEO of OMIL Offshore, said: “We are very pleased to be starting this new partnership with HydroSurv. From our very first conversations, we felt there was a great connection between our teams, with a shared approach to business, technology and customer relationships. For OMIL Offshore, working with HydroSurv is an exciting opportunity to expand our capabilities and bring new solutions to our customers in Spain and Portugal. We have already started working together on some interesting projects, and the experience so far has been extremely positive. We would also like to thank David and the entire HydroSurv team for their trust, enthusiasm, and warm welcome. We are really looking forward to building a strong, long-lasting partnership and achieving great things together.”

The partnership brings together OMIL Offshore’s established regional presence and technical expertise with HydroSurv’s growing portfolio of uncrewed surface technologies, broadening the range of solutions available to customers and supporting the adoption of uncrewed systems across marine survey, inspection, and monitoring operations.
