Naval Group has signed a contract in Stockholm with the Swedish Ministry of Defence for the procurement of four defense and intervention frigates (FDI) for the Royal Swedish Navy, following exclusive negotiations conducted with the support and cooperation of the French Government.

Naval Group has therefore been selected as a strategic partner by the Royal Swedish Navy to rapidly strengthen and modernize its fleet’s capabilities in a challenging operational context, thereby reaffirming its long-term partnership with Sweden and the strength of industrial cooperation in Europe.

With two units already delivered to the French and Hellenic navies and a tried-and-tested production line, FDI is thus able to meet Sweden’s requirements for rapid delivery, with the first delivery scheduled for 2030.
