ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management systems and the benchmark used across the defense, maritime, and industrial sectors to verify that an organization can consistently deliver products that meet customer and regulatory requirements. The certification requires an accredited third party to audit a company’s processes end to end, spanning how requirements are captured, how designs are controlled and verified, how production is executed and inspected, and how the organization measures and improves itself over time.

For Saronic’s customers, the certification provides independent assurance that the vessels leaving Austin are built to a documented, auditable, and repeatable standard. As the company scales production of its ASV family—from its 24-foot Corsair to the 180-foot Marauder and beyond—a mature quality management system is what allows output to increase without a corresponding rise in variability. It also streamlines qualification with customers and contractors, many of whom require ISO 9001 certification of their suppliers. Finally, it establishes the quality foundation that Saronic will extend to new facilities as it continues to grow its operations in the US and internationally.
The certification specifically covers Saronic’s Austin headquarters, which houses the company’s engineering, integration, and manufacturing operations for Corsair and Mirage. Saronic will continue to build out its quality management system across its expanding footprint, including its facilities in Louisiana and Port Alpha, its next-generation shipyard under development in Brownsville, Texas.
