Tiburon Subsea’s current focus is on its patented JETTE AUV control solutions for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), a valuable step in advancing their mission to facilitate efficient and reliable access to data using their proprietary technology infrastructure platform.
Tim Taylor, Chief Executive Officer of Tiburon Subsea, stated: “Jerry brings deep in-depth industry knowledge and experience which includes defense and technology acquisition. I believe his guidance will have a valuable and measurable impact on our company’s success.”
Tiburon Subsea recently announced its US patent for its JETTE system that enables hovering and five-direction maneuverability for AUVs, while preserving existing form torpedo form factor and eliminated highly volatile control surfaces. Sgobbo’s appointment is intended to accelerate the company’s transition from prototype testing to TRL-9 demonstrations with defense and commercial partners and successful mission operations.
“I’m very excited to work with Tiburon Subsea as the company who is pioneering data collection and technology access while applying new, reliable and innovative systems. The JETTE system offers vectored hover and precise station-keeping to legacy AUV fleets as well as new vehicles,” said Jerry Sgobbo. “A retrofit path that respects existing Programs of Record while enabling new efficiencies and increased capabilities is exactly the kind of innovation the DOD and commercial markets are looking for. I look forward to helping Tiburon translate technical progress into clear milestones, funding, and strategic partnerships.”
