Fugro Singapore will serve as the launchpad for regional deployment, connecting advanced AI and digital engineering expertise to clients across Asia Pacific. This AI-enabled platform unifies geophysical survey data, geotechnical site investigation results, laboratory data, and imaging into a single digital analytics environment.
Today, marine site characterization often relies on fragmented, labor-intensive workflows and manual interpretation across disconnected datasets. By leveraging AI and machine learning, the platform will automate data integration, interpretation, and analysis, helping to break down data silos, improve efficiency, and unlock deeper insights from complex marine Geo-data.
The platform is expected to enhance decision-making for offshore and coastal development by delivering faster, more predictive ground intelligence to clients worldwide. It will also contribute to the growth of local expertise in AI, data science, and digital engineering. Fugro expects to create new roles in Singapore across AI, data science, and digital engineering as the platform scales.
“Fugro’s decision to expand its innovation hub in Singapore reflects confidence in our vibrant R&D ecosystem and digital talent pool. The expansion will deepen Singapore’s capabilities in applying AI to offshore and coastal developments, while creating job opportunities for our local workforce. We look forward to Fugro scaling these capabilities globally from Singapore,” said Soo Haw Yun, Vice President, Global Enterprises, EDB.
“As offshore projects become increasingly complex, the ability to turn data into actionable insights is more important than ever. This initiative represents an important step in advancing marine Geo-data, helping clients make better-informed decisions while driving innovation from Singapore for regional and global markets. We are grateful for EDB’s support in accelerating this journey,” said Safri Drahman, Regional Line Director, Marine Site Characterization Asia Pacific.
